Your Role and Responsibilities
As an Engineering Technician, you will lead planned maintenance activities, assist in daily maintenance planning, and drive equipment availability and performance through reliability and continuous improvement principles. You'll ensure compliance with company policies, promote and lead process and production improvements, and champion the development and training of the engineering team.
Safety is a top priority. You'll lead safe behaviour, support health and safety management, and adhere to all H&S policies. By implementing Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), you'll maintain site hygiene and technical standards, conduct scheduled maintenance, and address equipment breakdowns promptly. Your role includes supporting production teams, reducing downtime, and participating in root cause analysis to identify and rectify issues.
Qualifications and Skills
We are looking for candidates with a minimum HNC in mechanical or electrical disciplines and at least five years of engineering experience. Essential skills include PLC fault finding, machine control systems knowledge, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word. Desirable skills include PLC programming, knowledge of multi-head weighing and filling equipment, and HACCP experience. Experience in the food industry or FMCG is highly desirable.
