Job Title: Ductwork Project Manager
Location: Guildford, Surrey
Salary: £60-70K DOE (option for vehicle/allowance)
The Role:
- Responsible for all Ductwork/HVAC aspects of projects.
- Overseeing multiple projects at one time which generally consists of direct & subcontract labour. Commercial projects up to the value of £500K (HVAC) but could be as low as £10K - Offices, Restaurants, Commercial Kitchens etc.
- Responsible for effective relationship management with clients & working partners to achieve smooth operational and commercial progression of projects.
- Making sure health, safety & welfare is maintained and adhered to at project/site level.
- Managing projects from tender stage, through all phases until handover to the end user.
- Ensuring that all related design information is correctly and fully audited to secure overall compliance.
- Overseeing elements of the overall commissioning process to ensure that the installations are correctly commissioned.
- Ensuring that complete and comprehensive records are collated and maintained covering all aspects of quality control, system/equipment testing, commissioning and equipment maintenance.
- Working closely with the commercial management for progress reports and to ensure all commercial and contractual requirements are correctly fulfilled.
- Attend on site meetings, as and when required.
- Overseeing the preparation of operation & maintenance manuals.
- Providing technical support and expertise to the internal project team.
- Managing variation costings and control with the commercial management and main contractor.
- Responsible for handover to clients and after care.
- Role based between the office & site visits (50/50).
- Typical working hours: 8-5, Mon-Fri.
- Reporting to the Operations Manager/Director.
The Company:
- 40+ years’ experience delivering Ductwork/HVAC projects in the South of England. Typically take on projects from London down to the South Coast but do occasionally go further afield.
- Offices based in Guildford, Surrey.
- Family business with around 16 direct employees (office staff, factory staff, direct labour + subcontractors).
- This company is currently at around £3-4m turnover per annum.
- This hire is due to someone retiring but the company is going through a growth phase.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Will be a time served Ductwork Project Manager.
- Will have previous experience managing commercial projects up to the value of £500K (Ductwork/HVAC).
- Will hold a valid CSCS Card. This company believes experience is more key than credentials, but qualifications are advantageous.
- Will work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Will have excellent communication skills.
- Will have shown proven company loyalty.
- Will be willing to work at the offices in Guildford every day and attend site visits when required.
- Having good knowledge of the manufacturing process and drawings is advantageous.
