New Permanent Opportunity for an experienced Assistant Farm Manager - Kirkby Lonsdale.
To support the Farm Manager in all aspects of management with a view to maximising the performance from the farm. This will include the supervision of a small team of staff and assisting with all daily activities and routines carried out on the farm. Will provide full relief cover when Farm Manager is on holiday/and alternative weekends to include completion of all records and monitoring alarm systems.
Key Duties & Responsibilities;
To gain a full understanding of poultry in MP.
Contribute to that department/ add value by developing requisite skills in this area in line with MP competency framework.
To work in a manner that actively seeks to reduce any negative environmental impact in relation to the processes and procedures operating within their area and across the wider business e.g. reduction of waste, recycling etc· To assist in the management and monitoring ventilation, heating, feed, water and lighting patterns within agreed guidelines to ensure the highest quality atmosphere so that birds can thrive.
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all matters relating to birds, food, suppliers ensuring that an adequate supply of all essential stock is carried out when necessary.
· Checking on flock performance daily and recording and reporting any maintenance issues, health problems or any other issues to the relevant Manager.
Ensure that all hygiene procedures are carried out to Company specification and minimises any environmental impact· Bird welfare to be of utmost priority at all times.
· Assist in the welfare and induction, health & safety and regular development for all employees through progress reviews.
· To ensure that the professional image of the Company is portrayed at all times
· Any other reasonable duties as required in your specific day-to-day work as given by your Farm Manager.
Comply with all requirements in relation to various quality audits.
Experience & Skills Required;
Proven People skills
Sound decision maker
Farm management experience
Valid and full Driving Licence
Previous involvement in field
Previous supervisory experience
Ability to work with minimal supervisionAnnual Salary: £30551
Working hours : 48 hrs per week
Holiday Entitlement - 25 + 8 bank holidays
Housing allowance
