About the role: We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our client school in Mill Hill, London. This is a fantastic part-time opportunity to work in a forward-thinking special school that caters to over 150 students with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities, including those on the Autism Spectrum (ASD). As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support students with SEN and ASD, primarily in Key Stage 1, on a part-time basis. You will assist the classroom teacher in creating a positive and engaging learning environment tailored to the needs of each student, implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), and providing targeted interventions to help students reach their full potential.

• Experience working with children with SEN, particularly those on the Autism Spectrum.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A relevant qualification in education or SEN (beneficial but not essential).
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to plan and deliver effective support strategies.
• Develop positive relationships with students, fostering a supportive and encouraging environment.
• Adapt learning materials and resources to suit the diverse needs of students.
• Manage challenging behavior in a calm and professional manner.
• Assist with personal care and mobility, as required.
