Do you have experience in working with pupils with challenging behaviour? Are you a confident sports coach?

Empowering Learning are working alongside a school in the Central Nottingham area (NG8) who are looking to appoint a behaviour & learning mentor to work across their KS2 cohort. The role is full time and initially on a permanent contract contract from Sept 2024

The hours of work are 8:30-3:30 and working days are Monday to Friday.

The main duties within this role will be:

Working closely with pupils who present with challenging behaviour
Leading sports sessions at break and lunchtimes
Providing 1:1 support to children in class
Using sports as a way to mentor children
De-escalating situations where children have showed extreme behaviours
Leading academic interventions with children working below age expected levels
Assisting the class teacher with the set up of lessons
Liaising with the class teacher and school SENCO around progress of the pupils The school are looking for someone who:

Holds a TA qualification or relevant degree
Holds at least one sports based qualification
Has had either TeamTeach training or MAPA Training (Desirable not essential)
Previously supported children with challenging behaviours
Has an understanding of supporting SEN pupils
