Our client, a prestigious company specialising in the manufacture of specialised cranes, and bespoke mechanical equipment, is seeking an accomplished Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their dynamic team on the scenic North Yorkshire Coast.

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of innovation and design, leading a team of talented engineers to deliver high-quality mechanical solutions. The successful Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for

Mentoring and guiding a team of design engineers, fostering a culture of precision and continuous improvement.
Overseeing multiple design projects, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to budgets, and the highest quality standards.
Collaborating closely with clients to understand their needs, provide technical expertise, and deliver cutting-edge solutions.
Creating high-quality engineering drawings, perform stress analysis, and prepare detailed reports.
Spearheading the development of new products and enhancements to existing ones.
Ensuring all designs comply with industry standards and client specifications.
Tackling complex engineering challenges with expertise and sound judgment.The successful Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will have

Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
At least 7 years in a senior mechanical design role within a medium/heavy mechanical engineering environment.
Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D CAD, strong understanding of stress analysis, and experience with electrical or hydraulic circuits.
Proven track record of leading design teams and managing projects.
Excellent verbal and written skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and internal teams.
Experience with winches, cranes, industrial gearboxes, or special machinery is highly desirable.
