As they continue to grow, they are seeking a skilled Machine Tool Fitter / Mechanical Fitter to join their dynamic team in the workshop on a day shift.
Job Overview:
Our client is looking for an experienced Machine Tool Fitter / Mechanical Fitter to assist in building their specialised machinery in the workshop. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical fitting and alignment, with the ability to work accurately and efficiently to meet project deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assemble and build special purpose machinery according to engineering drawings and specifications.
* Conduct mechanical alignment and ensure all components are correctly fitted and aligned.
* Perform equipment modifications and upgrades as required to meet client specifications or improve performance.
* Collaborate with the engineering team to troubleshoot issues and implement effective solutions.
* Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
* Maintain accurate records of assembly and fitting work, including parts used and time spent on each task.
* Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workshop efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Machine Tool Fitter / Mechanical Fitter, preferably within the special purpose machinery industry.
* Strong technical knowledge of mechanical fitting and alignment, including the use of alignment tools and techniques.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
* Proficient in the use of hand and power tools relevant to mechanical fitting.
* Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
* Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and clients.
* Understanding of health and safety regulations and practices.
* A proactive and self-motivated approach to work.
