Payroll Lead
Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum
Location: Shaftesbury
Hours: Monday – Friday 9.00am – 5.00pm
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Our client is a well-known, luxury food and hamper business, and are looking for an experienced Payroll person to join their team. Heading into their busy period, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of the UK payroll from start to finish.
Main Responsibilities:
* Deliver and oversee the end-to-end payroll process for a team of 150+ employees, increasing to (Apply online only) during peak periods.
* Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll data, including salaries, bonuses, deductions, benefits, and statutory payments.
* Manage payroll compliance, adhering to HMRC regulations, pension scheme requirements, and auto-enrolment legislation.
* Prepare and submit HMRC reports (P11D, P60, etc.) and reconcile payroll data.
* Maintain in-depth knowledge of payroll legislation and best practices, including IR35 compliance.
* Supervise payroll clerk and provide guidance on payroll procedures.
* Process employee expenses and reconcile third-party payments.
* Prepare BACs files and manage payroll inbox.
* Provide excellent customer service to employees by addressing payroll queries promptly and accurately.
* Collaborate with HR and other departments to ensure smooth payroll operations.
* Maintain confidentiality of employee data and adhere to company policies.
Skills and Experience:
* Proven experience in payroll management, preferably with Sage 200/50.
* In-depth knowledge of UK payroll legislation and regulations.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
* Leadership and team management abilities.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
