Straight Day Shift.

We are currently working with a precision engineering business based in Derby. Due to growth, they now have a requirement for a Quality Inspector/CMM Operator to join their existing Quality team based on the shop floor.

Reporting directly to the Quality Manager, the Quality Inspector/CMM Operator will be responsible for:

Conducting inspections of machined parts using a QCT CMM Machine.
Following inspection plans based on engineering drawings.
Inspection to AS9100 / AS9120 aerospace standards.
Analysing inspection data to identify deviations and non-conformances.
Generating detailed inspection reports documenting findings and recommendations.
Maintaining calibration records for standard quality measuring equipment.
Identifying potential quality issues and proactively suggest corrective actions.
Participating in the continuous improvement of quality control processes.
Communicating effectively with production personnel and engineers regarding inspection results. The ideal candidate for the Quality Inspector/CMM Operator role will have:

A good knowledge of inspection equipment.
The ability to read engineering drawings.
Experience of working within an aerospace manufacturing environment.
Preferably have previous experience in a similar role.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality control or a related field.
Proven experience using optical measuring machines.
Solid understanding of dimensional measurement principles and techniques.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. In return the Quality Inspector/CMM Operator can expect to receive a competitive salary, flexible holiday entitlement and free onsite parking. The working hours for this role are on a flexi-time basis, 37.5 hours per week, between the hours of 07:00 and 17:00. This is a straight day shift, and there may be overtime available.
