My client in South Molton is currently in need of a range of CNC Machinists. They are currently recruiting the following:
* CNC Machinist Level 3 £25,012
* CNC Machinist Level 2 £21,382
* Pre-set Operator Level 3 £25,012
* Manual Machinist Level 2/ Level 3 £21,382/ £25,012
The CNC Machinist is accountable for setting and operating CNC turning and milling machines in order to produce parts to engineering technical drawings following set operating procedures. The ideal candidate will have the knowledge to review parts to ensure they comply with measurements on drawings and take remedial action as appropriate by adjusting offsets.
Key responsibilities:
Work closely with the pre setter to ensure tooling is set up correctly
Set & Operate CNC machine to specific programme as per part number and work instruction sheet via utilisation of the DNC link (direct numerical control) on computer
Load tooling as appropriate into CNC machine
Check accuracy of first off
Check accuracy of parts using appropriate measurement tools
Take corrective action to rectify errors by offset adjustment on CNC machine
Obtain & Maintain “A Stamp” Approval status for machines and processes
Undertake inspection process of other team members work when required
Work on own initiatives and resolve any issues or problems to company specific procedures
Knowledge and application of lean principles/tools/5 S/seven wastes, participating in Kaizen events
Ability to be flexible and adaptable working on different machines and assisting colleagues as required.
Flexible in work patterns to meet business needs
Maintain TPM on machines
Experience Required for CNC Machinists:
* Previous experience in setting and operating CNC Turning together with Milling and Mill/Turning Machines (this is advantageous to have both qualities)
* Competent in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, and understanding of Geometric Tolerancing
* Good level of computer literacy
* Experience in Aerospace Industry advantageous
* Knowledge of COSHH
* Apprentice Qualified or similarly experienced Machinist with CNC Turning and/or Milling experience
Experience Required for Pre Set Operator:
* Industrial and factory working
* Knowledge of measurement techniques is advantageous
* Experience of working in a role requiring dexterity also advantageous
* Key foundation skills in numeracy and literacy
Experience Required for Manual Machinist:
* Previous experience in setting and operating a combination of manual Turning, Milling and/or Grinding machines is essential with experience of using Gun Drills an advantage
* Conversant with Machine Shop Measurement Techniques, selecting and using appropriate measurement equipment
* Competent in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and an understanding of Geometric Tolerancing
* Experience of Programming and Operating Co-ordinate Measuring Machines (CMM's) an advantage
* Knowledge of COSHH and safe working practices
* Apprentice Qualified or similarly experienced Machinist with Turning, Milling and/or Grinding experience
The following shift allowances apply:
Earlies 15%
Lates 25%
Nights 33%
4on 4 off 33%
The salary for these positions are negotiable & also includes a very good holiday package with additional benefits on top.
