The Role
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for defining and distributing the scope of work to ensure that the project is executed safely, on time and at appropriate levels of quality in contributing to design reviews. In addition to project-specific responsibilities, the Senior Mechanical Engineer will also have responsibilities including the supervision of less experienced engineering employees, engineering resource management input.

you will have the following qualifications & experience
Degree qualified in a relevant technical/engineering discipline or demonstrable experience.
Working towards, or already have, Chartership in a discipline specific engineering institution.
Strong understanding of the fundamentals within your engineering discipline.
Previous experience of working within the nuclear industry (this is desirable but not essential if transferrable skills are demonstrated)
Proven track record of successfully delivering design solutions within a highly regulated industry.
Understanding of the requirements to support safety led designs and associated regulatory compliance
Good understanding of wider industry safety legislation and statutory regulations.
You will have a proven track record of successfully delivering design solutions within a highly regulated industry and a strong understanding of the fundamentals within their engineering discipline.
Understanding of modern delivery practices, for example BIM compliance, RIBA/BSRIA design delivery stage gates, etc.it's great if you also have the following
Full membership of a discipline specific engineering institution.
Experience of bid preparation.
