SEN Support Worker, Farnham, GU10. A part-time role offering set shifts for an enthusiastic, bubbly and fun SEN professional to join a care team providing 2:1 support to a fabulous 15-year-old, young lady with complex care medical needs. Up to £16.67 Gross per Hour

Wage/Salary: £14.47 Weekdays | £16.67 Weekends | £17,000.00 + Gross per Annum
Driver Essential? No
Essential: Experience supporting young people with a physical disability. This role is open to *female applicants only.
Desirable: Complex Medical Care experience (GJ Tube, epilepsy and / or suctioning)
Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours: Wednesday 10.00am – 8.00pm and Friday: 2.00pm – 8.00pm. Two weekend day shifts per month, typical shift time: 7.30am – 7.30pm

About this client/child: Rose, 15, is at the heart of a loving and supporting family; her Mum, Dad, and younger brother (11). She is an engaging, sweet, and happy young lady with a love for music, especially boy bands! She enjoys pamper sessions where she gets her nails painted, watching movies, sensory play, listening to stories, and loud engaging activities. Rose sustained a brain injury at birth and as a result, is fully dependent on 2:1 support, around the clock. Rose has cerebral palsy, epilepsy, a tracheostomy, requires suctioning, a GJ tube (medication, nutrition, and fluid), and a visual impairment. Rose uses her eyes to communicate and can make her likes and dislikes known. There is an opening for a part-time SEN Professional to join her team. Rose’s home is fully adapted to meet all her needs, and full training is provided in all aspects of her health, care and medical plan.
Overview of role: Rose has a busy schedule which includes home school lessons, therapy sessions, activities and all things in between! Rose’s parents and care team give her every opportunity to participate in all aspects of family life, research new activities and hobbies for Rose to participate in, and continually promote her independence. The SEN Support Worker will work alongside another team member providing the highest standard of care and support to Rose, tending to all her health, care, and medical needs, this will include personal care, administering medication, preparing feeds, manual handling, implementing therapy, arranging activities (indoors and outdoors), updating her care plan, records and working in collaboration with Rose’s parents, medical professions and MDT.
Who this job would suit: Rose enjoys a range of activities and requires a *female SEN Support Worker who shares similar interests such as music, crafting, reading, etc. You will be fun, bubbly and proactive, with a passion for supporting others to lead a fulfilling life. You will come to this role with a keen interest in learning about complex medical care, as Rose has a high level of significant complex care needs, all training is provided. For this role it is essential that you do not smoke or vape.
