Cherry Professional are looking for an experienced Buyer to work for a market leading Nottingham based company. The Buyer role will support the Supply Chain Management by providing a professional, efficient and customer focused purchasing service.

Responsibilities:

Understand evolving industry sustainability requirements and develop supply chain sustainability
Procuring and managing stock for designated suppliers/product categories.
Purchase products of the required quality at the best prices.
Establish and cultivate mutually beneficial relations with suppliers.
Achieve close to 100% stock availability on managed categories.
Manage stock turnover days to eliminate overstocking and redundant stock.
Maintain and develop the profit+ system with up-to-date and valid information.
Evaluate suppliers and negotiate contracts to ensure best terms and pricing.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors to optimise supply chain efficiency.
Monitor inventory levels and manage stock replenishment to meet production demands.
Coordinate with internal teams to understand material requirements and forecast future needs.
Analyse market trends and pricing to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Identify more cost effective and/or second sources of supply
Resolve supplier issues and manage supplier performance to meet quality and delivery expectations.
Collaborate with production and logistics teams to streamline processes and improve lead times.
Provide regular reports on purchasing activities, including cost analysis and supplier performance.
Ideal Candidate:

Proven success and experience within the Procurement sector.
Previous experience in implementing supplier and product quality control management.
Technical aptitude with the ability to understand and develop technical product specifications.
Highly organised in both written and verbal communications.
Confident and clear in communicating at all levels.
Commercially minded with strong financial acumen.
Results-oriented, metrics-driven individual with expertise in purchasing, supplier collaboration,
development, and compliance
