Nexus People are looking for a Shift Manager to work in Elland for our client, who is a leading screen recycling plant.

To be considered for this role you must have previous experience managing a team of Production Operatives, with experience within manufacturing.

Working as a Shift Manager:
Our client is looking for a Shift Manager who will be responsible for:

Opening/Closing down the site
Daily inspections
Shift pattern management
Communicating work plans to the teams
Measuring performance and ensuring the team are achieving their KPI's
Monitoring and maintaining all areas of compliance
Maintaining high standards of warehouse discipline and cleanliness
Providing training, coaching, and support to the team
Performance managing staff, including providing motivational leadership and handling disciplinary matters
Assisting with general maintenance of the site and equipment
Managing the offloading and loading of vehicles according to the traffic management plan
Preparing the site for the receipt of existing, new, and projected volumes of material
Ensuring permit requirements are met.This is a really varied role, and our client is looking for someone who is willing and able to roll their sleeves up and get involved with a number of different tasks, as well as having the experience to lead a team of people to be their best.

Temporary to Permanent placements - after 8 weeksOur client is looking for the following in a Shift Manager:

Strong leadership with good interpersonal and people management skills.
Experience managing a team, ideally within the waste recycling industry.
Good problem-solving abilities and adaptability.
WAMITAB COTC Level 4 in hazardous waste treatment/transfer is an advantage but not essential.
Ability to make decisions regarding safety and operational issues.
Self-motivated with team motivational skills.
Proactive with minimal supervision needed.
Flexible regarding working times
