We are hiring for a Fitter to join a leading engineering firm at their site based in Stockport.
This role offers a diverse and varied opportunity for a Skilled Fitter to work on unique jigs and fixtures, ranging from small bench tools to large jigs up to 60 metres long.

* £17.14 per hour
* 35 hour week
* Overtime available (paid at enhanced rate)

What will you be doing as a Fitter?
* Assembling, adjusting, and modifying jigs and fixtures
* Using hand tools (drills, grinders, files, measuring equipment) and machinery (saws, pillar drills, milling machines, surface grinders)
* Diagnosing problems and finding solutions
* Working within health and safety guidelines
* Performing FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and SAT (Site Acceptance Testing) to customer specifications
* Occasionally working offsite, potentially worldwide
What do you need?
* Time-served as an engineer
* The ability to read and understand mechanical drawings
* Knowledge of assembling equipment and checking parts for accuracy and fit
* Experience with metal fabricated structures
* Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems (advantageous)
