NRL are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Fitter to work at the Port of Blyth.
The Port of Blyth is a major statutory UK Trust Port, expanding rapidly and having recently announced record Group turnover of over £30 million. Much of this growth is driven by its position as a leading UK offshore energy support base that continues to be at the forefront of offshore wind and renewable energy development.
The Port has a reputation for its customer focused and innovative can-do approach to handling services, covering a number of sectors including offshore energy, project cargo, containers, dry bulks and break-bulks.
Its major subsidiary, Transped, provides a comprehensive worldwide door to door forwarding and logistics service, whilst Port Training Services offers award winning industrial and port related training across the UK.
The Role:
We are looking to recruit an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join the maintenance team at the Port of Blyth.
The Port have an array of cargo handling plant that includes FLT, Cranes & Heavy Plant which require regular servicing and repair.
Previous experience of working with these types of equipment would be an advantage.
Due to the nature of the business, you will need to be flexible with a can-do attitude. You will also be required to assist with the loading/unloading of cargos. Therefore, the successful candidates will be required to learn all aspects of Stevedoring including operating plant & equipment where required.
This is predominantly a day shift position; however, you will be required to work shifts and weekends when necessary.
Overtime will also be required to cover the needs of the business.
The business is located across four sites, so a full driving licence is essential.
