About the Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in providing tailored support to students with special educational needs (SEN). Working closely with the teaching staff, you will help create a positive and engaging learning environment that enables every student to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Personalized Student Support: Work one-on-one or with small groups of students, adapting activities to suit their individual needs and learning styles.
Classroom Assistance: Assist the teacher in delivering lessons, managing classroom behaviour, and ensuring a supportive learning atmosphere.
Implementing Learning Strategies: Support the implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and specific learning strategies, collaborating with teachers and the SEN coordinator.
Encourage Independence: Help students build their confidence, independence, and social skills by providing consistent, positive reinforcement and guidance.
Monitor Progress: Observe and record student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and contributing to student assessments and reports.
Inclusive Environment: Foster a caring and inclusive classroom where all students feel valued and supported.Requirements:
A passion for supporting children with diverse needs and helping them achieve their best.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
Previous experience working with children, especially those with SEN, is highly desirable.
