First Achieve Engineering are seeking a Machine Operator for an award-winning, global business, who specialise in the design and manufacture of supremely robust, high-technology solutions for various industries including foundries, forges, steelworks, nuclear plants and garbage disposal facilities. Our will be based out of their state-of-the-art facilities near East Kilbride.

Paying an hourly rate in the £15 -£16.50 per hour
39 Hours per week, typically 6.00 -2.30pm Monday to Thursday and 1.30 finish on a Friday, with opportunity for overtime at enhanced rates.
32 days annual leave
Company Sick Pay scheme (eligible after probation period)
Enhanced Pension Scheme
Opportunity to become an Employee Director and join the board of directors.
Opportunity to purchase shares in the company. Each share may earn a dividend based on profit in Financial YearThe main duties of this position are the following:

Specialise in the setup and operation of a convention horizontal boring machine.
Operate various other machine tools: lathe; milling machine; drill etc.
Produce component parts from conventional engineering drawings and specifications in a timely manner and to high standards.
Work to tight engineering tolerances.
Inspect and measure own work throughout the manufacturing process.
Assist in the creation of standard working procedures for typical processes.
Work as part of a team to contribute to the continuous improvement of the department, via productivity or efficiency improvements.
Adhere to good housekeeping practice, to ensure all equipment and working areas are kept clean and tidy.

Skills required

Previous experience as a machine operator, or similar role.
Ability to read mechanical detail drawings and understand the machining requirement from these.
Skill operating various machine tools.

Desirable Experience

Having used a "Kerns Richard SH75" or similar boring machine.
Have a counterbalance forklift truck licence.
Ability to operate overhead crane to load & unload parts
Have knowledge of "Safe Working practice" in a machine shop environment
