Incorporated in 1985, our client have been fabricators of steel structures for over 35 years. The company’s primary business is within the highways infrastructure markets with particular focus on street lighting but also reaching out into Noise barrier, parapet, fencing, CCTV, gantries and bespoke architectural structures.

Due to continued growth, our client are seeking an experienced Technical Support Engineer to join their Technical department. The position will require the individual to work within a dynamic team, implementing their engineering knowledge within the working practices of the department.

Duties of the Technical Support Engineer include :

· Assisting and supporting the sales and design team.

· Creating detailed production information and bills of materials for use in manufacture

· Producing DXF to export for CNC profiling through AutoCAD

· Liaise with the design department to translate customer requirements into detailed design specification.

· Structural design checks using in-house software to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.

· Attending meetings with customers to discuss the company’s deliverables and aims for the future

· Attendance to industry related exhibitions.

· Such other comparable duties as may be required by the Technical Lead.

Requirements of the role :

· Knowledge of BS EN 40 or previous experience within the lighting industry - (Not essential but an advantage).

· Previous experience in an engineering/fabrication environment.

· The ability to read and understand engineering drawing.

· High attention to detail.

· Personable, presentable, and articulate.

· Computer proficient

· Strong administration, organisation and communication skills.

· A degree or HNC/HND in an engineering discipline (essential)

· CAD drawing / 3d Modelling – (Not essential but an advantage).

The salary for this position will be negotiable.

Hours of work are 8:00am until 4:30pm
