Quality Assurance Manager - Lancaster

£40,000 - 45,000 per annum, dependant on experience

Overview: We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to oversee the quality control and assurance processes within our Client’s state of the art chilled foods manufacturing site.
This role is split between the manufacturing site and c40% of your time will be office based. This could suit someone looking to take on their first management role in a chilled food preparation environment.

Shift: Monday to Friday 8.00 – 5:00

Experience Required:
• As Quality Assurance Manager, you will possess in-depth knowledge of food safety regulations, quality management systems, and experience in the chilled foods sector.
• Previous experience within a technical or quality assurance department
• Food related qualifications and operating within the guidelines of BRCGS and customer standards
• A good level of knowledge of label and product specifications information
• HACCP at level 2 or above
• Knowledge of technical requirements within a low-risk factory environment
• Able to demonstrate areas of change culture
• Proven experience in developing and implementing quality management systems
• Excellent leadership and team management skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Responsibilities:
• As Quality Manager, this role involves leading a quality team to ensure that all products meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance
• Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems (QMS) specific to chilled food products
• Conduct regular audits and inspections of production processes to ensure compliance with internal and external standards
• Stay updated on changes in food safety legislation and ensure that the company’s practices are aligned with the latest requirements
• Manage and lead the company's response to any quality or safety incidents, including product recalls or customer complaints
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team, encouraging proactive problem-solving and innovation
• Drive initiatives aimed at reducing waste, improving efficiency, and minimizing quality-related cost
• Prepare regular reports on quality performance, including non-conformance reports, corrective actions, and audit results
