We are seeking a motivated Assistant/Intermediate Estimator who is eager to develop their career in the construction industry. You will play a key role in supporting the estimation process for their diverse range of projects. Key responsibilities of this requirement include;
* Estimating: Assist in preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction and fit-out projects.
* Tender Preparation: Support the preparation of tender documents, including bills of quantities and pricing schedules.
* Cost Analysis: Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to understand project requirements and costs.
* Supplier Liaison: Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing and quotes.
* Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and opportunities in the tendering process, recommending strategies to address them.
* Data Management: Maintain and update cost databases, ensuring all information is current and accurate.
* Collaboration: Work closely with the senior estimating team, project managers, and other departments to ensure cohesive project planning and execution.
* Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the development and refinement of estimation processes and tools.
Qualifications and experience required;
* Previous experience in an estimating role within the construction industry.
* Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Good understanding of construction methods and materials.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with estimation software.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* A proactive approach with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* A degree or qualification in construction management, quantity surveying, or a related field is desirable.
