Join a dynamic Financial Services Company in Central London!
Our client, a leading FS firm based in London, is looking for a talented Infrastructure Engineer to join their expanding IT team.
This is a great opportunity to support critical internal infrastructure, networks, and databases while working on exciting new infrastructure enhancement projects.
Responsibilities:
Design and implement robust infrastructure solutions, including database administration (MS SQL/Oracle) and SAN storage management.
Develop and maintain ksh/Bash scripts for automation, monitoring, backups, and performance testing of databases.
Contribute to high-availability design and disaster recovery strategies to ensure maximum system resilience.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain, update, and optimise production technologies.
Perform daily infrastructure support tasks, including managing VMware, SAN, and network configurations.Key Skills:
Experience in database administration (MSSQL, Oracle), including configuration, builds, and updates.
Proficiency in scripting languages (ksh, Bash) for automation and task management.
Solid knowledge of virtualisation (VMware) and cloud-based infrastructure solutions.
Strong understanding of high availability and disaster recovery processes.
Familiarity with SAN management, including RAID, replication, and recovery techniques.
Experience with Active Directory (AD), DNS, and networking fundamentals.
Strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.Desired Skills:
Experience with AIX and Unix environments.
Relevant industry certifications, such as Microsoft (MCP, MCSE), Linux (LPIC-1, LPIC-2), or IBM Certifications.
Knowledge of disaster recovery procedures, SAN replication, RAID configurations, and remote mirroring.
Familiarity with IT hardware/software installations.Why Join?
