Environment Health and Safety Lead

Annual Salary: £50k - £55k depending on skills and experience
Location: Bath

The company are a leading engineering business in the defence sector who are looking for an EHS lead to drive change and develop a strong culture within the company.

Ideally you will have NEBOSH Certificate along with relevant experience in a health and safety lead role and the ability to drive change and influence people.

Day-to-day of the role:

Coordinating, supporting, and advising the business on all aspects of EHS.
Implementing, managing, and monitoring standards and processes to ensure all EHS responsibilities within the business are adhered to.
Influencing site teams to ensure safe working practices and procedures are in place.
Ensuring compliance with safety management systems.
Reporting on key EHS metrics and managing system audits.
Managing and reviewing training requirements.
Developing a strategy to implement the requirements of ISO14001 environmental standard into the business.
Monitoring and advising on potential energy efficiency savings and managing energy reduction programs.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Demonstrable experience in managing HSE and developing a culture in previous roles.
Strong team-working and leadership experience, with the drive and flexibility to maintain pace of work as priorities and requirements change.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to collect, analyse HSE data and implement HSE improvement programs.
Experience of environmental waste control and reduction.
Strong multi-tasking abilities and excellent problem-solving skills.
The ability to obtain UK Security Clearance.
Full driving licence.
Relevant qualification in Health, Safety and Environmental field.
NEBOSH Certificate.
Ideally hold or working towards a H&S/ HSE Diploma.
