Workshop Controller – Nottingham

We are supporting one of the largest truck and van dealers in the UK who are looking for a Workshop Controller for their site in Nottingham. They are a family owned and run business and have been for more than a century. The group operates across 13 full service dealerships, spanning the East & West Midlands, North Wales, Camebridgeshire, Leicestershire, Staffordshire and South Yorkshire

Job Summary

* Role: Workshop Controller

* Location: Notts - NG2

* Hours: Monday - Friday (08:00 - 17:00) with 1 in 4 Saturdays (4 hours per month)

* Salary: £(phone number removed)

* Job Type: Permanent

Workshop Controller - Main duties

* Reporting into and supporting the Service Manager to ensure efficient running of the workshop; maintaining high levels of productivity

* Ensuring the workshop machinery and tools are maintained, thus maintaining a professional workshop environment at all times.

* Install a 'right first time' mentality with all your direct reports.

* Providing technical support when required, during training or MOT testing.

* Ensure team compliance with processes to ensure recording and invoicing accuracy

* Ensuring good housekeeping and security in the workshop, leading by example.

* Liaise with Service to ensure customers are kept informed and manage any complaints that may arise

The ideal Workshop Controller will...

* Have experience within the automotive industry (essential)

* Have experience of coaching and mentoring staff

* Come from a technical background within the LCV/HGV industry (desirable)

* Be IT literate

* Be confident and assertive in nature and able to show leadership capabilities
