SALARY/RATE AND BENEFITS:
Six Month Contract
£33.96-£39.62 Ltd Per Hour
YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING:
The candidate must be familiar with 3D Inventor modelling
-Able to manage several teams of Designers and Engineers and undertake checking of Mechanical deliverables.
-Have working knowledge and experience in applying relevant EH&S issues as required by legislation (and applicable Directives).
-Has presented at Designers Risk Assessments / Design Reviews and ideally at HAZOP studies.
-Has working knowledge of AutoCAD and Inventor
-Has a good knowledge of fabrication techniques.
-Has a good knowledge of achievable manufacturing accuracy,
-Ideally will have some 'hands on' experience.
-Good knowledge of Geometric tolerancing, weld symbols, limits and fits, surface finish.
-Good working knowledge of commonly used materials and standards
No clearance required
Due to an increase in workload and newly emergent scope, a Senior Mechanical Engineer is required to supplement our existing design team, working on the Sellafield BEPPS DIF plant. You will be working alongside an existing Senior Mechanical Engineer and will have at least one Mechanical Designer working for you, in addition to working alongside an existing Sellafield team.
The initial task involves design of a shield door access platform, from concept through to detail design for manufacture, followed by the probability of designs for a crane modification. These tasks are likely to lead to further BEPPS DIF scope, or work on other Cavendish mechanical projects and tasks in our increasingly busy Westlakes office. The initial scope may be delivered remotely, with no requirement to work on Sellafield site.
The candidate must be familiar with 3D Inventor modelling, although drafting support will be provided by others. The candidate must also be proficient in the authorship of design documents, including CDM deliverables, which comprise a full design package.
Senior Engineer Role Profile
Provide cost/timescale information and progress reporting.
Provide design solutions for the nuclear industry and coordinate the production of:
- Design Schemes
- Design Proposal Drawings
- Detail Drawings
- General Assemblies
- Functional Specifications/ Functional Requirements Documents
- Technical Reports and Studies
- Design Justification Reports
Identify or respond to task variations through formal change control.
Take responsibility for delivery of multi-discipline work package to programme, budget and required quality.
