The Commercial Contracts Manager will be responsible to assist in management of all aspects of the contract function, including the negotiation of wide range of complex defence contracts and related business agreement. Assist in the preparation of cost/price proposals and provide guidance on all contractual matters. Provide cross-functional guidance and support to business development, program management and proposal management.
Role - Commercial Contracts Manager
Location - Kent (flexibility around hybrid working arrangements)
Type - Permanent
Salary - £55,000-£70,000 + bonus + benefits
Key responsibilities of the Commercial Contracts Manager role will include not be limited to:
Reviews RFP/tender requirements and supports proposal development
Coordinates and assists in the drafting and negotiation of a variety of large strategic international contracts (government/commercial) and associated modifications
Reviews agreements and contracts and all associated documents for consistency with laws, government regulations, economic conditions and company policies.
Advises management of contractual requirements and issues and provides interpretation of terms and conditions.
Acts as primary contact for assigned international and commercial contracts activities.
Assists in identifying legal, contractual, and financial risk-related issues and provides guidance to management on resolving complex issues.
Assists with communicating contractual flow downs to subcontracts department
Acts as focal point for contractual communications and commitments for assigned Contracts
Works as a partner with Leadership, Program Management, Engineering, Finance, and other disciplines to mitigate performance risk for both Requests for Proposals and assigned Contracts
Reviews Requests for Proposals and participates in preparing compliant proposal responses
Negotiates proposals within business goals and documents substance of discussions, agreements and results
Key skills and experience required for Commercial Contracts Manager and not limited to:
Proven experience within a commercial contract management role, aerospace and/or defence background is preferred.
Eligibility to gain security clearances
Previous experience in reviewing complex contractual documents and in a customer interface role
Can demonstrate the ability to effectively liaise with internal and external customers and stakeholders
Recognition of contract law
Self-motivated and proactively able to manage own work to in order to achieve objectives
Ability to identify and develop solutions to problems
