We are looking for an experienced M&E HVAC Project Manager with previous experience working within the large format retail side of construction. This role although based in Essex is flexible with hybrid working. The role involves covering from Portsmouth to Newcastle managing works, scoping projects, pricing projects and generally overseeing projects with a value of £5-500k. It involves travelling the Country and you will be expected to stay away from home when required which depending on project location would be minimum 1 day a week. You will be involved in predominantly looking after a major retailer using their pricing model.

Role Overview:
The Mechanical/HVAC Contracts / Project Manager will oversee mechanical projects up to £1 million, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires a dynamic leader who can manage teams, liaise with clients, and handle the financial and logistical aspects of projects.

HVAC / Mechanical Project Manager Key Responsibilities:

Project Management: Oversee mechanical projects up to £1 million, from initiation to completion.
Team Leadership: Manage supervisors, plumbers, pipefitters, laborers, apprentices, and subcontractors.
Procurement: Handle material and subcontractor purchasing, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely delivery.
Client Liaison: Work closely with project and site teams to control and review all contract work, including dealing with customer inquiries and conducting site surveys/visits.
Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all sites and work locations adhere to Health & Safety and QA standards, including completing and issuing relevant RAMS.
Project Planning: Develop and implement project plans, manage variations, and oversee monthly applications.
Budget Management: Ensure projects are completed within the required timescale and on budget. HVAC / Mechanical Project Manager Skills and Experience Required:

SMSTS certification.
First Aid Certificate and Asbestos Awareness training.
NVQ Level 3 in Heating and Ventilation (Gas Systems).
Experience in mechanical maintenance, plantroom installations, and working with materials such as ABS, steel, copper, and Uponor.
Unvented Hot Water Qualification and any F-Gas experience are advantageous.
Strong experience in project costing, material ordering, and take-offs.
ECS Management Card is required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Proven experience managing contracts between £20,000 and £1 million.
At least 3 years of experience in a similar role, with hands-on experience as a Mechanical Engineer or a strong understanding of electrical services. HVAC / Mechanical Project Manager Competencies:

Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Strong time management abilities and the capacity to work under pressure.
Analytical and mathematical skills for accurate budgeting and forecasting.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also being an effective team player.
Holds a valid driver’s license . HVAC / Mechanical Project Manager Benefits:
