Our Consultancy client are currently looking for a number of skilled Platform Engineers to join them in advancing a clients infrastructure and deployment strategies. This role will play a crucial part in their journey towards building a robust, scalable, and secure platform using cutting-edge technologies for a major high street bank. These roles will be hybrid requiring you to be in the office 2/3 days per week initially.

You will need to be an expert in the following:

1. Infrastructure Management- Design, implement, and maintain a highly available and scalable infrastructure on AWS.
2, Container Orchestration - Deploy, manage, and scale containerized applications using Kubernetes.
3. Service Mesh- Implement and manage Istio for service mesh and microservices architecture.
4, Infrastructure as Code- Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using Terraform.
5. Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment - (CI/CD)Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and Argo CD.
6. Monitoring and Alerting - Set up comprehensive monitoring and alerting systems using Grafana and Prometheus.
7. Security and Compliance- Ensure security best practices are followed, particularly around containerization and cloud infrastructure.
8. Repository Management- Manage Docker images and other artifacts in ECR (Elastic Container Registry).

Tech stack wise you must be proficient in using AWS services for building and managing scalable infrastructure. With expertise in deploying, managing, and scaling applications on Kubernetes and have experience with Istio for service mesh and managing microservices communication.Proficiency in using Terraform for infrastructure as code. And familiarity with Cactus for blockchain applications. A strong understanding of using GitLab for version control and CI/CD processes with Argo CD for continuous delivery and GitOps practices. Proficiency in setting up and using Grafana and Prometheus for monitoring and alerting and experience with managing Docker images and other artifacts in AWS ECR.

Any proficiency in Scripting languages like Python or Bash for automation tasks and with centralized logging solutions like ELK stack or Loki would be a bonus. As would knowledge of security best practices in a cloud-native environment and familiarity with collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.
The keys to these roles are to continuously improve the infrastructure to ensure high availability, scalability, and security and streamline the CI/CD pipeline to facilitate rapid and reliable application deployments. As well as implementing robust monitoring and alerting systems to maintain optimal system performance and quickly address issues. You will need to ensure comprehensive and up-to-date documentation of all infrastructure and deployment processes and implement and enforce strong security measures across all platform components.
