Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Embedded Coding:
- Implement advanced software features using MATLAB/Simulink for auto-code generation specific to automotive applications.
- Develop and maintain Embedded software for electric vehicle (xEV) Vehicle Control Units (VCUs), focusing on performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional automotive engineering teams to ensure robust and efficient code integration into vehicle systems.
- Model-Based Design (MBD):
- Utilize MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow and Embedded Coder for automotive software development.
- Conduct Model-In-the-Loop (MIL), Software-In-the-Loop (SIL), and Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) testing to validate control algorithms and software performance.
- Work closely with team members to use plant model simulations for HIL testing, including simulations of automotive powertrain sub-systems like high-voltage (HV) batteries, DC-DC converters, and traction machine inverters.
- Automotive Standards and Protocols:
- Ensure compliance with ISO 26262 part 6 and other relevant automotive safety and quality standards.
- Implement and manage vehicle network protocols such as CAN, LIN, FlexRay, and Automotive Ethernet for in-vehicle communication.
- Software Development Lifecycle:
- Follow the automotive software V-Cycle for development, testing, and validation processes to ensure quality and reliability.
- Conduct thorough testing and debugging of automotive software to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Collaboration and Documentation:
- Work closely with automotive engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to meet project requirements, deadlines, and quality standards.
- Document software design, coding, and testing processes clearly and comprehensively to support regulatory compliance and future development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with a focus on automotive engineering.
- Strong experience in MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow, specifically for automotive applications.
- Proficiency in Embedded Coder and experience with auto-code generation for automotive control systems.
- Demonstrated experience with MIL, SIL, and HIL testing methodologies in the automotive industry.
- In-depth understanding of automotive network protocols (CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Automotive Ethernet).
- Familiarity with ISO 26262 part 6 standards and automotive safety requirements.
- Prior experience with xEV VCUs and automotive powertrain systems is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Valid drivers license and ability to commute within a 40-mile/1-hour radius of Location.
