3rd Line Engineer

Hybrid working (after probation) 2 days WFH

£45000 - £50000 DOE

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing and supporting complex IT environments, ensuring the smooth operation of our clients' infrastructures. This role demands a deep technical understanding, the ability to resolve advanced technical issues, and a strong focus on delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced support for both Windows and macOS operating systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Manage and administer Microsoft 365 and Azure environments, including Conditional Access, Azure AD Connect, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Intune, and AutoPilot.
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, and DNS.
  • Administer Backup/Replication solutions using Veeam to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Manage and support virtualization platforms such as VMware and Hyper-V, ensuring high availability and efficient resource utilization.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve networking issues related to TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN, with hands-on experience in Cisco, Mikrotik, FortiNet, Draytek, Ubiquiti, and Juniper technologies.
  • Collaborate with 1st and 2nd line support teams to resolve escalated issues, providing expert guidance and solutions.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of IT projects, ensuring minimal disruption to client operations and successful project outcomes.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of client environments, technical procedures, and issue resolutions.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Extensive experience in a 3rd Line IT support role, with a strong background in both Windows and macOS operating systems.
  • Proven expertise in managing Microsoft 365 and Azure environments, including the full suite of tools and services.
  • Deep understanding of Windows Server environments, including configuration and support of Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, and DNS.
  • Hands-on experience with Backup/Replication technologies, particularly Veeam.
  • Proficient in managing virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V.
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, with experience in supporting a range of networking technologies including Cisco, Mikrotik, FortiNet, Draytek, Ubiquiti, and Juniper.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
