Technical Engineer (Telecom Networks) Sweden (Hybrid)
Required for a 12-month initial contract, Technical Network Telecoms Engineer to work 50% onsite in Stockholm.
Role:
- Configure and install various network devices and services (eg, Routers, Switches, load balancers, VPN, QoS)
- Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations
- Traffic Engineer usage and monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability
- Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning
- Provide Level-3 support and troubleshooting in cooperation with operations team to resolve issues
- Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
- Select and implement policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company's security team
- Develop, build and manage (DevOps) Network Architected solutions (eg, routing, switching, SD-WAN, ACI Data Centre Environment)
- Participate in assessing existing implementations, designing future state, and building transition plans for implementation of network infrastructure features.
- Advise in designing, planning and implementing Network Infrastructure projects in the respective technology area
- Assist with advice for high priority incidents.
- Cooperate and coordinate with stakeholders within business, security, services and network related products/areas
- Contribute to the Unit and Product Area strategy and OKRs
- Be responsible to keep our production Network Design setups documented and ensure that the required knowledge is available for other product teams
- Take ownership and end to end responsibility for the solutions/functions within product team
- Constant improvement of the solutions (automation, upgrades, LCM, etc.)
- Follow all Service Management Processes including but not limited to Change, Configuration, Problem and Incident Management Processes
- Striving for cost efficiency and automation based on trends and new technologies for Network solutions during our journey towards the Cloud based solutions
Technical Skills:
- Deep understanding and experience in IP Networking
- Network foundations (LAN, WAN, DNS, NAT, VPN, routing)
- Deep understanding of networking protocols (eg, IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS)
- Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
- Expertise in Cloud networking
- Ability of network troubleshooting (pcap, Wireshark, NetFlow)
- Experience and understanding of developing with DevOps methodology
Qualifying requirements:
- Proven hands-on network engineering experience
- CCNP or higher (CCIE and/or CISSP highly valued)
- Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model
- University degree in Computer Science or a related subject
- Basic understanding of Agile methodology and tools used (Jira/Confluence)
- Understanding or experience within Azure cloud
- Scripting, programming experience (eg Python)
- At least basic knowledge or experience of ServiceNow
- Network automation experience
- Experience in network as a code concept
- Experience and understanding of Network Security products (IPS, Proxy, Firewall, reverse-Proxy, load balancing)
