£47,000 % Bonus | Cornwall (hybrid)
Your new role
As a Cloud Engineer, you will support and lead the day-to-day running and development of cloud-based research services, ensuring they meet high standards and service level agreements. Utilising your expertise in DevOps practices and Microsoft Azure technologies, you will design, deploy, manage, and maintain these services, responding to operational incidents and service requests.
- Lead the design, deployment, and support of Azure-based research services.
- Develop and implement Azure DevOps best practices.
- Design and build CI/CD pipelines to enhance software delivery efficiency.
- Maintain Research Cloud services to best practice specifications.
- Contribute to updates or solutions for the Research Cloud Services environment.
- Adhere to best practice Service Management and Architectural frameworks (ITIL).
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience in designing, deploying, and maintaining Azure-based services, ideally via Azure DevOps.
- Proven ability to write technical documentation (High/Low Level Designs, Runbooks, How-to Guides).
- Experience in supporting, maintaining, and developing Windows & Linux OS environments and applications within Azure (eg, WAMP/LAMP).
- Experience in maintaining and developing cloud-based solutions adhering to OWASP developer best practices.
- Proficiency in languages/Middleware such as Asp.NET, Python, PHP, and Apache.
- Experience in managing SQL databases (Azure DB, Managed SQL, MS SQL, MySQL).
- Ability to design and build solutions to meet customer requirements.
- Experience in supporting 3rd party applications and maintaining appropriate life cycle management.
