To design and lead the implementation of and manage data flows and data management systems which will connect operational systems and collect, validate and present data for use in business insights and BI processes
What you'll need to succeed
- Assist in the ongoing systems migrations (ETL & testing).
- Knowledge of cloud data platform providers (AWS, GCP, Snowflake, Azure)
- Experience of designing and developing Data Warehouse, Marts, Sets.
- Experience of identifying and mitigating issues and risks associated with their development work
- Experience of Datamodelling and a thorough understanding of logical modelling concepts
- Experience with databases and analytics, including relational databases (eg SQL Server), Data Warehousing and business analytics tools
- Experience working with database, storage, collection and aggregation models, delta loading and external data (social media, websites, ONS Councils)
- Experience working with some or all the following: - SharePoint, SSRS, Power BI and deep knowledge of the underlying technology in order to develop data integration layers and associated systems to provide repositories of information
- Experience of working in an agile cross-functional delivery squad working with product owners, solution analysts, solution architects and test analysts is essential
- Experienced in designing, coordinating and implementing pilots, prototypes or proof of concepts
- Experienced working with statistical data visualisation tools and techniques is essential.
- Experience in the selection and implementation of technologies and partners to deliver resilient, scalable and futureproof data solutions
- Experience data profiling and systems analysis experience
- Extensive experience of using recognised standards and tools to design, code, test, correct and document complex programs and scripts from agreed specifications
- Experience of designing data models based on the HACT standard
- Solid understanding of data visualisation tools (Power BI)
- Broad understanding of BI information exploitation methods including ad-hoc queries, data mining techniques, data visualisation, Real Time intelligence and data exploration.
- Identification and resolution of problems in databases, data processes, data products and services
- Analysis and reporting of test activities and results
- Familiarity with industry recognised Datamodelling standards and their application.
- Understanding of Data Warehouse (DW) strategies, architecture and structure utilising SSIS, Schemas, Kimball Methodology
- Deep technical capability in designing, building and testing complex and large-scale data products
- Fully conversant with advanced concepts and principles of Datamodelling
- Capable of designing and producing complex and consistent data models across multiple subject areas
- Proficiency in writing advanced SQL queries, Stored Procedures, and expertise in Cloud ADF, Rest API data ingestion
- Good stakeholder management capability, engagement and communication skills.
- Able to effectively translate and accurately communicate across technical and non-technical teams
