We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Security Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join a dynamic cybersecurity team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in network security, particularly in establishing and understanding normal baselines within network environments. This role requires a proactive professional who can detect and respond to anomalies that may indicate security threats, ensuring the integrity and safety of our network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Baseline Analysis: Develop, monitor, and maintain network baselines by analysing traffic patterns, user behavior, and system activity to establish what constitutes "normal" within the network.
• Anomaly Detection: Identify deviations from established baselines, analyze potential threats, and escalate incidents when necessary. Utilize advanced tools and techniques to detect suspicious activities or vulnerabilities.
• Incident Response: Collaborate with the incident response team to investigate security breaches, analyze root causes, and implement measures to prevent future incidents.
• Security Audits: Conduct regular security audits and assessments to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices. Recommend improvements based on findings.
• Threat Intelligence: Stay updated on the latest cyber threats, attack vectors, and emerging trends in network security. Apply this knowledge to enhance the organization's security posture.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of network security incidents, responses, and resolutions. Prepare comprehensive reports for management and stakeholders.
• Training & Mentorship: Provide guidance and training to junior staff and other team members on network security best practices and anomaly detection methods.
