Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Henlow
Pay Range/details: £42,000 per annum
Contract Type: Permanent
Do you want to work on vital defence industry projects, helping bring big ideas to life?
Do you want to work on end-to-end System Engineering, working on projects from concept, through to delivery?
If so, Omega is now supporting this world-leading weapons systems designer, developer, and manufacturer, searching for a Manufacturing Engineer. You will coordinate the day-to-day support to the operations staff within the manufacturing facility. This role will also allow you to grow your knowledge within manufacturing as part of our development into future opportunities.
Founded in 2001, after the merger of four key, global weapons manufacturers joining forces and backing from three of the world's most well recognised and successful brands within the industry, they have gone on to become a well-respected business joining forces with various government organisations globally to enable armed forces across Land, Air, and Sea.
They offer a catalogue of various systems and solutions, all in active use within operations worldwide, and are always developing new programs and solutions to drive reliability, excellence, and experience for their customers.
Key Responsibilities – Manufacturing Engineer
Support existing manufacturing lines and new product introduction
Support the industrial validation process using FMEA's, process proving activities etc
Management of configuration control by the embodiment of design modifications into the manufacturing documentation and industrial validation
Support the non-conformance process
Ensure products are produced with consideration to safety, efficiency, and economic factors
Assume the responsibilities for safe operating implementation for changed processes, including liaising with COSHH assessors, SHE, and human factors
Liaise with the design authority during the product prototype/development phase, to ensure optimised Design for Manufacture (DfM)
Compilation and update of Manufacturing Instructions maintaining production BOMs
Tooling development and control
Qualifications & Requirements – Manufacturing Engineer
Formal technical Engineering/Craft Apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21
Formal further education certificate to HNC or equivalent in a relevant subject OR BEng in relevant Engineering Degree
Able to work with minimum supervision
Must demonstrate a proactive approach to problem solving and commitment to work to meet our delivery milestones
Can interpret Design Drawings with a view to producing Manufacturing Build Instructions
Must be able to work within and contribute to a team environment.
Awareness of digital communication platforms to work and communicate effectively within the workplace
