Job title: Software Engineer
Location: Romsey/Hybrid ( 2 days per wee on site)
Salary: £60 - £65k

Candidates must be willing and eligible to go through SC and DV clearance for this Software Engineer role.

I am looking for Software Engineers for a client of mine who are a leading tech and engineering firm operating within the UK defence and national security space.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement efficient Real Time systems.
• Understand and apply new and emerging technologies.
• Work on diverse projects spanning a range of domains including Array Processing, Communications and Sensors

Skills Required:

• Expertise in C and/or C++ for Embedded development
• Experience of unit and system testing
• Expertise in Embedded Linux platform development
• Experience of modern DevOps practices, including version control and continuous integration
• Knowledge of latest System on Chip (SoC) devices

It would be useful, but not essential, to have:

• Expertise in development and implementation of Digital Signal Processing (DSP) algorithms
• Experience of modelling/simulating algorithms using MATLAB
• Expertise in FPGA firmware development using VHDL
• Knowledge of latest open source frameworks eg OpenCPI
• Knowledge of latest Software Defined Radio (SDR) platforms

It would also be desirable to have an awareness of:

• Electronic warfare
• RF design
