Location: Oakland, CA
Looking for a candidate that is experienced in Network Security RACF Application Security, APIs and Protocals. SSL, Kerberos, Firewalls, Routing, Swithching, IDS/IPS Authentication and Authorization Instruction Detections. The Security Engineer III is a senior level position responsible for ensuring the corporate LAN, WAN, Internet and data is designed and implemented to meet or exceed industry security standards. The Security Engineer III is responsible for assisting in the establishment, development, design, recommendation and implementation of a security framework that encompasses Mainframe, distributed systems, network, and web applications for current and new systems. The Security Engineer III works with Security Architect and affiliate security representatives to coordinate and/or lead security architecture activities across the enterprise. The Security Engineer III will evaluate new security alerts, threats and vulnerabilities. Will lead staff in remediation efforts and will act as incident leader as required and as appropriate. The Security Engineer III will create security project plans for the most complex projects and prepare documentation as required. Will rotate on-call 24-hours a day, including weekends and performa as the escalation point to the junior engineers and analysts. Must be willing to respond promptly to security problems reported by users, other IT Support Groups and the Helpdesk. Provide detailed weekly, monthly and quarterly status reports as required.
5+ years minimum experience, including at least two years as a Senior level security member of a large organization managing and/or designing large scale security architecture.
Very experienced in network security, RACF, demonstrated knowledge of application layer security API's and protocols such as SSL, Kerberos. Demonstrated knowledge of Firewalls, routing, switching, IDS/IPS authentication and authorization systems.
Three plus years of experience with Intrusion Detection and/or prevention systems. Experience with wireless security mechanisms and technologies.
College Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related field or equivalent experience. Any of the following certifications CISSP, CSSA, CCSP are desired.
Security - Knowledge of L2/L3 Firewalls, routing, switching, IDS/IPS, sniffers, SNORT, anti-virus, Spyware/Malware, IPsec, SSL. Understanding of security principles in a large organization is required. Experienced in the development and implementation of security policies is required.
