Conexus are partnered with a leading utlilties client, and are searching for a Lead Network Security Engineer on an initial 3-month contract. The role is mostly remote, with occasional travel to their hub in Berlin (travel costs will be covered).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement security solutions across all areas, including Firewalls, VPN access, alerting/logging/event management, traffic monitoring, and securing public connectivity.
  • Translate overarching security requirements into specific infrastructure product line needs.
  • Work with infrastructure architects and security teams to integrate security measures seamlessly into the environment.
  • Collaborate with the automation team to lock down actions during security incidents, including access control for VPN users.
  • Ensure effective communication, self-organisation, and adherence to project-specific processes.
  • Document implementation workflows and design solutions in a professional and standardised manner.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • General:

    • Ability to derive High-Level Designs from given architectures and guide implementation engineers.
    • Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with critical environment change control.
    • Ability to maintain feedback loops between architects and engineers in an agile setting.
  • Firewalls:

    • Expertise with Palo Alto Firewalls, Panorama management, Fortinet UTM Firewalls, and Linux-based Firewalls.
    • Knowledge of network routing protocols (eg, BGP) and experience with Zero Touch Deployments.
  • VPN:

    • Proficiency in secure client IPSec VPN remote access solutions and certificate management.
  • DDI:

    • Experience with Infoblox "Grid" solutions, Bind (Linux), and DNS security standards.
  • Automation:

    • Ability to design orchestration workflows and familiarity with DevOps methodologies.
  • Documentation:

    • Skilled in documenting execution steps, writing professional design documentation, and using tools like Jira, Confluence, and Miro.
