Platform Engineer - API & Streaming Platforms vacancy for a globally operating Zurich based company in the Banking sector.

Your tasks:

• Designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance APIs and streaming solutions to support functionality and scalability requirements
• Collaborating with product managers, software engineers, and other stakeholders to define API specifications, integration requirements, and streaming protocols
• Implementing best practices for API design, including versioning, authentication, authorization, and documentation to ensure developer-friendly interfaces
• Architecting and optimizing microservices-based systems to enable efficient data streaming, Real Time processing, and event-driven architectures
• Troubleshooting and debugging complex issues related to API integrations, data streaming, and platform performance

Your experience/knowledge:

• Demonstrated professional skills in Apache Kafka Architecture and its core components, including topics, brokers, producers, and consumers.
• Expertise in Kafka APIs such as Producer API, Consumer API, Kafka Streams API, and Kafka Connect API
• In-depth knowledge of programming languages like Java, Go, and Python for developing Kafka applications, along with Scripting languages like Bash, PHP, PowerShell, or Perl for automation tasks
• Proficiency in distributed systems concepts, including replication, partitioning, and fault tolerance
• Solid knowledge of DevOps methodologies, including CI/CD pipelines for automating testing and deployment processes
• Language skills: English - fluent in written and spoken
