Job Description We are seeking a skilled DB2 Database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in Shell Scripting to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our organization's DB2 databases, ensuring their performance, security, and availability. Proficiency in Shell Scripting is essential for automating routine tasks and optimizing database operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and upgrade DB2 database software and related products.
• Design, implement, and maintain database security strategies, including access control, auditing, and monitoring.
• Monitor database performance and capacity planning to ensure scalability, efficiency, and reliability.
• Perform database tuning and optimization, including index tuning, query optimization, and database reorganization.
• Develop and maintain database backup and recovery procedures.
• Implement disaster recovery solutions and conduct regular backups to safeguard data.
• Develop Shell Scripts for automating routine DBA tasks such as backups, monitoring, and data migrations.
• Create scripts to streamline database deployments and upgrades.
• Monitor database health and performance using DB2 tools and custom scripts.
• Identify and resolve database issues in a timely manner, including troubleshooting errors and performance bottlenecks.
• Create and maintain documentation, including database schemas, procedures, and standards.
• Generate regular reports on database health, performance metrics, and capacity planning.
• Work closely with development teams to support database design, performance tuning, and optimization.
• Provide technical support and guidance to application developers and end-users.
