Business Analyst - ETRM - Metals - Geneva

We are looking for a Business Analyst to join a dynamic IT department helping to define and drive the analysis process for the Metals IT team. This role will report into the Head of Metals IT, working closely with the Metals Trading and Operations teams for business alignment.

Collaborating with your peers & fellow team members, you will ensure the portfolio of work for the Metals business functions is appropriately analysed and understood, which includes implementation of a new ETRM into the IT landscape to support the growing Global Metals Trading Desk.

You should have a Metals and Concentrates focused background within a Commodity trading environment with a proven ability to engage with users as well as technologists, as well as a desire to identify and develop strategic innovative solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Creation of business requirements for the Metals IT portfolio including for Change and Transformation Programs, as well as associated day to day operationally activities.
• Active member of a high functioning Agile delivery team
• Help drive delivery, whilst ensuring quality of low maintenance, high value solutions
• Ensure requirements are correctly interpreted and offer maximum business value
• Actively seek to identify and drive improvements and innovation across both the business & IT operating models
• Represent and promote IT, both internally and externally
• Support firm wide initiatives & strategy where required

Key skills

• 5+ years Commodities experience in a metals trading environment across Base Metals, Refined Metals and Concentrates as well as an strong understanding of their associated key processes
• Proven and demonstrable experience delivering transformational change within a trading environment
• Strong experience working with or in unison with industry leading C/ETRM platforms
• Knowledge of different OTC and Exchange traded instruments and their trade life cycles
• Excellent documentation skills and experience of creating requirements in an Agile friendly manner such as user stories
• Analytical and critical thinking with ability to problem solve complex issues
• Strong interpersonal skills - able to build relationships across the firm
• Strong communication and influencing ability
