About the Role
This Design Governance role requires a good level of design knowledge and experience, with an appreciation of process across design, engineering and other disciplines such as Acquisition & Planning, ensuring the impact of any change is understood and communicated effectively to internal and external Stakeholders maintaining business continuity.
You will be part of the Design Governance team and expected to collaborate and contribute to the teams' overall targets and goals including things such as keeping up to speed with customer changes and requirements, which is an ongoing process as new technologies advance and present exciting opportunities.
The roles primary focus will be CAD, maintaining drawing standards as well as managing and creating a CAD library, with exciting opportunities to contribute to future initiatives such as digital twin, which will drive efficiencies and could be transformational for how the business operates.
Additionally, you are expected to support in the maintenance and creation of national and project-specific design guidance, as required by the business. You will be expected to support Design Partners within workshops, ensuring effective communication of key messages, whilst building relationships and promoting desired behaviours.
Throughout you will be supported by a cross-functional team of industry experts and exposed to other disciplines to give you the opportunity to continuously grow and develop your skills.
You will work in Tandem with the Design Assurance team helping to provide solutions and interventions when problems are identified.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support to the Design & Engineering department by creating and maintaining a drawing library, including items such as CAD blocks, in an effort to help our Suppliers deliver a consistently outstanding product.
- Support in the production and maintaining of guidance documents to ensure Customers and Suppliers are working to the same standards.
- Contribute innovative ideas and support the implementation of initiatives to enable the business and Suppliers to work smarter.
- Assist in the transition across to Digital Twin, which is a new and exciting initiative, which involves scanning assets with the latest drone/LIDAR technology to create a 3D representation of our site.
- Work together to understand the capabilities of the Digital twin with an opportunity to influence to utilise this tool and the impact on design.
Skills and Knowledge
- Highly Experienced in CAD systems with transferable skill across other platforms.
- M&E Engineering, Electronic, Mechatronics, Civil, Telecommunications, Product development or similar
- A good understanding of the mobile infrastructure industry, with the opportunity to further develop and learn from departments
- Desire to keep up to speed with changes in the fast-paced industry of telecoms.
- Highlight risk and opportunity that could impact positively and negatively.
- Assist in providing guidance and support to the delivery teams on technical design matters.
- Familiarity with customer system tools
