About the Role
iO Associates is recruiting exclusively for a growing client based in Buckinghamshire. Our client is looking for a Pre-Sales Engineer (IP Networking) to join their expanding team. The successful candidate will manage the technical relationship between engineering, sales, and customers. You will design customer solutions, present the product portfolio, and support the sales team throughout the sales cycle, ensuring a seamless transition to delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide pre-sales technical support to colleagues and customers.
  • Lead the technical review and response to RFP/RFI documents.
  • Write technical specifications and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Attend customer meetings to deliver technical presentations.
  • Design networking, security, and managed service solutions.
  • Lead bids, ensuring timely submission.
  • Collaborate on product development and service improvement.
  • Verify and sign off on solution designs and delivery costs.
  • Drive business growth by influencing sales propositions.
  • Train and develop team members and customers.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key customers.
  • Attend trade shows and events.
  • Participate in the technical handover of sales to project teams.
  • Complete required training and maintain professional qualifications.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience
Essential:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of mobile technology (5G/4G/LPWAN, Private and Public APN).
  • Networking & Security background (CCNA or equivalent; CCNP preferred).
  • Experience with enterprise mobile, LAN and WAN, wireless, and Firewall technologies.
  • Proficiency in routing, switching, and security technologies.
  • Experience in low and high-level design, technical pre-sales, and project life cycles.
  • Experience with security solutions, access protocols, and tunnelling protocols.
  • Linux experience.
  • WLAN design and configuration skills.
  • ITIL Foundation (desirable).

Desirable:

  • MSP/ISP experience.
  • Experience with security solutions like Cisco or WatchGuard.
  • Familiarity with 802.1x & RADIUS.

Demonstrable Experience

  • Understanding the competition and differentiating our offerings.
  • Clear understanding of technical solutions and their business value.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
  • Embracing change and fostering innovation.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • At least 3+ years of experience in technical networking design and implementation.
