Position: Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Cambridgeshire

Job Type: Permanent/Hybrid

Join our innovative Engineering Team! We're looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to collaborate with Quality, Design, and Production teams to create cutting-edge solutions and improve manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, test, and introduce new machinery and equipment.
  • Ensure designs meet compliance and safety standards.
  • Implement process improvement initiatives.
  • Develop DFM and DFA solutions.
  • Quickly resolve production issues.
  • Support new product introductions and update SOPs.
  • Collaborate with Quality Engineering to address part quality issues.
  • Assess alternative component parts for supply chain continuity.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Process Engineering.
  • Experience in product development and special purpose machinery design.
  • Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD systems (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Ability to produce detailed manufacturing drawings.
  • Knowledge of compliance and safety regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving, multitasking, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Familiarity with LEAN principles.
