VMware Workspace ONE Administrator

Our client, a leading global supplier for IT services, requires an experienced VMware Workspace ONE Administrator to be based in their client's office in Leeds, UK.

This is a hybrid role - you can work remotely in the UK and attend the Leeds office 2-3 days per week.

This is a 6+ month temporary contract to start ASAP.

Day rate: Competitive Market rate.

This role is critical as it involves management and deployment of OS and application packages on Android devices at sites. Any issues will impact store operations and customer business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and configure Android devices through Workspace ONE UEM platform
  • Working with vendor to perform android device OS upgrade and patching
  • Workspace ONE Platform management and vendor co-ordination for any product issue
  • Co-ordinating with Application team to deploy and configure business application on android devices
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned
  • Manage customer escalation
  • Participate in pro-active problem management throughout the supported services
  • Ensure closure of problems within the accepted timeframe (agreed SLAs)
  • Provide support for user queries, project handovers, and call out support
  • Provide assistance to offshore in various project/enhancement execution phases, as appropriate

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience with Workspace ONE administration
  • Configure/install/troubleshoot various software issues related to the installation and maintenance of VMware Workspace ONE UEM products
  • Manage Android devices through Workspace ONE UEM platform
  • Deploy OS upgrades, Core application updates & enhancements for Android devices through Workspace ONE UEM
  • Identify new features and updates of mobile technology in general and of the Workspace ONE platform specifically
  • Support existing Workspace ONE enrolled devices with troubleshooting, and upgrades
  • Work with Platform vendors for product enhancement announcements and other issues
  • Manage device inventory & device compliance
  • Work with Android device manufacturer to resolve/enhance device issues & stability
  • Client facing role with clear understanding of Onshore-Offshore model
  • Good functional and technical knowledge in service areas
  • Good communicator at all levels both oral and written
  • Proficient in problem analysis
  • Proficient in incident, problem & change management
  • Experience in work planning/task management
  • Passion to provide high level of service to client
  • End to end ownership
  • Ability to produce accurate work to tight deadlines under pressure
  • Focused on results
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Commitment to the client's mission, vision and value
  • Flexibility on working hours, if required (to meet urgent customer demand)
  • Provide support during evenings and weekends being part of on-call
