Major Incident Manager is required to work within a team of Major Incident Managers owning the day to day incident manager processes. As the Major Incident Manager, you will ensure that major incidents are resolved and closed within agreed timescales by the right group or team.

You will be the main point of contact and manager of high priority incidents, ensuring incidents are managed and resolved with minimum impact to the business. Also ensure improvement actions are captured and tracked to completion and all incidents are closed within agreed Operational Level Agreements.

You will need experience of as many of the following:

Experience of working within large complex IT departments/organisations

Ability to co-ordinate incidents resolution activity within and across teams, to ensure actions are completed within timescales

Comfortable working under pressure

Good business awareness and an understanding of the impact of incidents and problems to a large organisation

Ability to communicate and influence at all levels, multi task and prioritise workload

Ability to drive through identified improvements to both systems and processes currently used within the incident and problem management processes

Proactively takes responsibility, owns any issues arising and follows through to resolve them (get the required result) and recognises how individual responsibility impacts team delivery and inspires others to do the same

Works collaboratively with a range of people to support the wider business agenda

Always remains focused on the most critical/impactful task to hand using all resources efficiently and effectively

Takes advantage of every opportunity to communicate relevant information remaining mindful of the audience (eg translates complex/technical issues to meet the audience's competency level)
