We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Financial Officer/Financial Analyst with Project Support Office (PSO) experience to join our dynamic team.

Role Overview: The Financial Officer/Financial Analyst will play a critical role in our client's financial operations, focusing primarily on project finance, budget reviews, and financial analysis. This position involves collaborating with the Supplier Management Team and various stakeholders to ensure accurate financial tracking, reporting, and compliance with our financial governance. The ideal candidate will have experience with supplier management and commercial management, supporting the financial aspects of project transitions and supplier engagements.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Management:
    • Ensure timely receipt and critical review of supplier forecasts in line with current governance.
    • Verify and process supplier invoices, ensuring payments are made within contractual terms.
    • Raise and resolve queries with Supplier Management Team and Supplier PMOs as needed.
    • Maintain comprehensive records to ensure governance and audit trail compliance using tools like SOW Register, Cost Model, and SharePoint.
  • Financial Operations:
    • Perform detailed financial analysis and budget reviews.
    • Assist in year-end financial processes, supporting junior colleagues as needed.
    • Utilize the Purchase to Pay (P2P) tool for financial transactions.
    • Update stakeholders on key financial data including receipting reports, PO status, and contract headroom.
  • Project Finance:
    • Review and manage project budgets and financial spreadsheets.
    • Support project transitions with financial insights and analysis.
    • Participate in regular meetings to review financial positions across suppliers and programs.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Engagement:
    • Score suppliers as requested to support performance reviews.
    • Lead or support meetings to review forecast, PO, and invoicing positions.
    • Ensure sufficient PO coverage and facilitate timely approvals for new SOWs/Programs.
    • Maintain up-to-date Supplier Resource Master form and support the Supplier Management function in various updates.

Interfaces:

  • Internal:
    • Collaborate with the Cash Management team, especially for payments exceeding £1M.
    • Work closely with Finance, Programme Directors, and other key stakeholders.
  • External:
    • Engage with Supplier Management and Supplier PMOs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Financial Officer, Financial Analyst, or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of financial operations, project finance, and budget management.
  • Experience with Supplier Management/Commercial Management.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools, particularly the Purchase to Pay (P2P) tool.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the public/government sector.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint and other project management tools.
