Applications Support Team Leader - Government - Remote - £45000

A great opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Team Leader to join a central government organisation and take on the responsibility for the development and support of business applications, working with suppliers and other IT colleagues to ensure robust provision is in place. In this role you will lead and direct a small team of Application Engineers to create a customer focussed service for colleagues in the UK and globally.

You will work with the Service Delivery Manager to implement the technology vision and strategy for business applications. You will drive a culture that is responsive and focusses on continuous improvement.

You will also be responsible for supporting a consistent approach to vendor management of IT suppliers across the organisation in partnership with colleagues in procurement.

Essential knowledge, skills, and experience Requirement
1 Degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
2 Knowledge of ITIL (v3 or v4).
3 Knowledge of Microsoft-based IT technologies along with some of the following: SharePoint, SQL, Azure, Windows.
4 Knowledge of the key building blocks that support technology implementations including networks, infrastructure, applications, and cloud-based services.
5 Experience in a Senior Application Support Analyst/Engineer position.
6 Understanding of Application Support best practice, policies, and procedures.
7 Track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.
8 Diverse commercial, financial, contract and supplier management experience.
9 Experience of delivering tangible IT improvements that deliver business value.
10 Experience providing reports on services delivered.
11 Experience of managing large suppliers and ensuring they deliver value for money and outstanding service.
12 Experience of leading and managing teams.
13 Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders across the organisation.
