We are seeking a Senior Advisor with extensive experience operating at senior levels within the London Market and general insurance sectors. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in senior management roles within insurance firms or equivalent positions in advisory firms. They should possess deep technical insurance knowledge and practical experience in key executive roles such as DEO, CFO, or CRO. This role requires strong strategic thinking, leadership skills, and the ability to provide high-quality advisory services.

This role will sponsor SC Clearance.

Key accountabilities:

  • Support policy and supervision colleagues across the organisation, providing independent advice and challenge to help the organisation assess topics that impact the insurance industry and the wider financial system.
  • Provide advice and guidance to executives on key challenges which firms are facing and sector-wide risks, working closely with colleagues who are developing policy, or advising supervisors on insurance matters, especially those in the non-life sector.
  • Contribute to the organisation's assessment and response to sector-wide risks, and working with supervisors on high-profile individual firm supervision priorities.
  • Build and maintain key external relationships, including relevant stakeholders in industry and other relevant organisations, to help inform the organisation's work on both known and emerging risks.

Key requirements:

  • Experience of general insurance topics and the London Market, gained by operating strategically at Senior Executive and/or board level, and with a broad understanding of relevant market practices in the insurance sector (for example, underwriting, claims, reserving, reinsurance, governance and risk management).
  • Familiarity with the concepts and frameworks relating to prudential supervision and risk management in the insurance sector.
  • Experience at board level in executive or non-executive leadership roles in the regulated firms or other equivalent roles (desirable).
  • An ability to provide practical insights, ideas, and solutions to complex issues.
  • Digest and synthesise information quickly, think critically to reach reasoned and robust conclusions, and communicate effectively.

If you consider yourself to have a disability or if you are a veteran, and you meet the essential criteria for the role, you will be put forward for the Guaranteed Interview' scheme whereby you will have the opportunity to discuss this role and your suitability with a member of the Sourcing team.

If you are successful in securing this role, please note that for the entire duration of this contract, regardless of extension you will be working this role at the equivalent PAYE rate that has been advertised. For absolute clarity, we only work on a PAYE basis. If you wish to understand PAYE vs Umbrella more, please let us know and we can send you some additional information.

As an Equal Opportunities Employer, we provide the best talent and encourage all applications regardless of background, in line with our commitment to diversity, equality and inclusion.
