Job title: Electronic Digital Design Engineer
Location: Hampshire/Hybrid (2days per week on site)
Salary: £60k - £95k depending on experience

Candidates must be willing and eligible to go through SC clearance for this role

I am looking for an Electronics Digital Design Engineer for a client of mine who are a leading Technical and Engineering firm that operate within the UK defence and national security space.

  • As an Electronic Digital Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and developing cutting-edge digital electronics for defence and electromagnetic warfare applications
  • You will have the opportunity to work on challenging projects that make a significant impact on national security and electromagnetic warfare technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, simulate, and implement digital and analogue electronic circuits and systems tailored for electromagnetic warfare applications and defence-related projects
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and specifications, with a strong emphasis on electromagnetic warfare requirements.
  • Conduct hands-on testing, troubleshooting, and debugging of digital and analogue designs to optimize their performance.
  • Guarantee compliance with industry standards and safety regulations for all electronic designs.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide valuable technical input to enhance project outcomes.
  • Document design specifications, test plans, and results for compliance evidence, with a focus on electromagnetic warfare technology and capabilities.
  • Provide mentoring, feedback, and development opportunities to assess and support the team's professional growth.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in digital electronic design
  • Knowledge of analogue circuit design desirable.
  • Knowledge/use of digital design tools (eg, PCB CAD Spice simulation, HyperLynx signal integrity, Altium).
  • Experience with hardware verification and debugging techniques.
  • Familiarity with defence industry standards, security protocols, and electromagnetic warfare principles is a significant advantage.
